The rules for using Ticker Tape: what you get, how paying, trials and cancelling work, what we expect from the community, and what Ticker Tape is and isn't.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Ticker Tape Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17379320) whose registered office is at Carrwood Park, Selby Road, Swillington Common, Leeds, LS15 4LG, England ("Ticker Tape", "we", "us"). They cover the Ticker Tape Chrome extension, the website at tickertape.co.uk and your Ticker Tape account (together, "the service").
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't accept them, please don't use the service.
2. Ticker Tape is not financial advice
Ticker Tape organises and filters what you read. It does not give investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
Community scores, ratings, reviews and leaderboards are the opinions of other users. They can be wrong, out of date or biased.
Hit-or-miss grades are your own judgement, or other users'. They don't measure real returns and don't predict future results.
Posts and videos shown through the extension are written by third parties. We don't check or endorse them.
Trading and investing carry risk, and you can lose more than you put in. Every decision you make is your own. Speak to a qualified, regulated adviser if you need advice.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or over and able to make a binding contract.
You sign in with Google or X. Keep those accounts secure; anything done through your Ticker Tape account is your responsibility.
One person per account. Don't share, sell or transfer your account or plan.
Tell us at contact@tickertape.co.uk straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Plans, trials and payment
Ticker Tape is a paid service. Current plans are Monthly ($29 a month), Yearly ($249 a year) and Lifetime (a one-time payment of $2,499). Prices are in US dollars and taxes may be added at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Free trial
Monthly and Yearly start with a 7-day free trial, once per person. You give a payment card at the start. When the trial starts we email you the date it ends. If you don't cancel before then, your first payment is taken and the plan continues.
Subscriptions
Monthly and Yearly renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. If we raise the price of your plan, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal so you can cancel first. If a payment fails, we'll let you know and Stripe will retry; if it still fails, your access may stop until it's paid.
Lifetime
Lifetime is one payment for access to every feature of the extension for as long as we run the service, with no renewals. If the service ever closes, Lifetime buyers get a local version of the extension instead of a refund; see Ending the service. The first 500 people to buy Lifetime pay the launch price of $1,999, applied automatically at checkout while places remain. A place is held for you for up to 30 minutes while you check out.
Changing plans
You can move between plans from your account page. Upgrading takes effect straight away. Moving from Yearly to Monthly takes effect at the end of your current year.
5. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel Monthly or Yearly at any time from your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
We don't give refunds for part-used periods, except where the law requires it or we decide to as a goodwill gesture. Lifetime can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase. If a Lifetime payment is refunded or reversed, Lifetime access ends.
Your right to cancel under UK law
If you're a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days from buying to cancel a digital service. Because Ticker Tape starts as soon as you check out, you agree at checkout that it starts straight away. If you then cancel within 14 days of a paid period starting, we may deduct an amount for the service you've used. To cancel within this period, email contact@tickertape.co.uk.
None of this affects your other legal rights as a consumer.
6. Community rules
Ratings and reviews only work if they're honest. When you rate or review an X account or YouTube channel:
Rate on what the account actually posts. Don't rate or review an account you run, are paid by or compete with.
Don't use more than one account, coordinate with others, or pay or ask for ratings to push a score up or down.
Don't post anything defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, obscene, or that reveals someone's private information.
Don't make claims of fact about a person you can't stand behind. Give your opinion as opinion.
No spam, adverts, referral links or promotion of products, services or trading signals.
Members can report reviews. We may hide or remove any review or rating that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that break them repeatedly or seriously. We aren't required to monitor what members post, and reviews are the views of their authors, not ours.
7. Your content
You own what you write: your notes, ratings and reviews. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy and show them to run the service. For ratings and reviews, that includes showing them, without your name, to other members and including them in community scores and leaderboards. The licence for your private content ends when you delete it or your account.
Posts and videos you save belong to their authors. Your library keeps a copy for your personal reference only. Don't republish other people's content from it.
8. Using the service properly
You agree not to:
copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the extension or service, except as the law allows;
scrape, bulk-download or collect data from the service, its scores or its leaderboards, or use them to build a competing product;
get around access controls, plan limits or security, or probe for weaknesses without our written permission;
overload the service, or use bots or automation against it;
use the service to break the law or the rules of X, YouTube, TradingView or Google.
9. X, YouTube and other platforms
Ticker Tape works on top of websites run by other companies, including X, YouTube and TradingView. We don't control them, and Ticker Tape is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp., Google LLC or TradingView. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms. When they change their sites, some features may stop working until we update the extension, and we can't promise any feature will keep working on a site we don't control.
10. Our intellectual property
The extension, website, name, logo and design of Ticker Tape belong to us or our licensors. Your plan gives you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the extension and service for your own use while your plan is active. Nothing in these terms gives you any other rights in them.
11. Changes to the service and these terms
We're always improving Ticker Tape, so features will change, be added or occasionally be removed. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the extension at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't accept it, you can cancel before then. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Suspension and ending the service
You can stop using Ticker Tape and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must by law, or to protect other members or the service. Where reasonable we'll warn you first and explain why. If we close your account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund any unused part of a subscription.
If we ever decide to close Ticker Tape altogether, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and a way to download your data. Subscriptions will stop renewing, and we'll refund any period paid for but not yet used.
Lifetime payments are not refunded if the service closes. Instead, before it closes, we'll give each Lifetime buyer a version of the extension that runs on their own computer without our servers, and a personal, non-transferable licence to keep using it. Features that depend on our servers, such as signing in, syncing between computers, community scores, reviews and leaderboards, won't be part of it, and it won't receive updates, so parts of it may stop working when X, YouTube or TradingView change their sites. It remains our property: don't share, sell or redistribute it.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, it's provided "as is": we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that scores, grades or filters will be accurate or complete.
We are not responsible for:
any trading or investment decision you make, or any loss from one;
what other members or third-party accounts post;
losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or business losses such as lost profits or opportunities;
problems caused by X, YouTube, Google, TradingView, Stripe or events outside our reasonable control.
Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Law and disputes
If something goes wrong, email contact@tickertape.co.uk first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and if you live elsewhere you keep any protection the law of your country gives you.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still do so later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to someone who takes over the service, and it won't reduce your rights.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms: contact@tickertape.co.uk, or use our contact form. Ticker Tape Limited, Carrwood Park, Selby Road, Swillington Common, Leeds, LS15 4LG, England.
